Take Me Out to the Ball Game, In Gwinnett!
How cool is it that we have a minor league baseball team right here in Gwinnett County?! The Gwinnett Braves, the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, takes home field advantage at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. This stadium is one of the many attractions located in our community, and if you have been to a game you know how exciting they are! Whether you have been to a game before or not, you definitely should put this on your summer schedule! The Gwinnett Braves games are a fun experience for all ages, and along with a competitive game of baseball, there is so much going on! At Coolray Field, you can enjoy affordable food with a variety of options! Restaurants such as, Chopper’s Corner/Top Dog Express, Niekro’s Restaurant, & McAlister’s Deli, are just a few of the restaurants located right in the stadium! Another great restaurant, Friends American Grill, has recently opened this year and is a must if you like wings and tater tots! Along with delicious food, there are great drinks, contests, firework shows, theme nights & so much more! You do not want to miss out on all of the excitement!
$3 Thursdays are my personal favorite days to attend Gwinnett Braves games! Every Thursday there are $3 food specials as well as drink specials throughout the entire game. You can also buy lawn tickets for these games for ONLY $3! These affordable prices are great if you are looking for an inexpensive night out while still having a blast!
Coolray Field, which was voted the “2013 International League Field of the Year,” is continuing to become more popular every year because of all the exciting things it has to offer! Currently, a mixed-use development is being built which will surround the field. This development, known as “The Village at Coolray Field,” will consist of multifamily developments with 206 units. Residents at these units will be able to watch the games from their balcony. This village will also include 53,400 square feet of retail space, 200,000 square feet of office space, and a hotel. Hotel guests will be right next to the stadium, near the Mall of GA, and not too far from Lake Lanier! Coolray Field is a place to enjoy some good ol’ baseball, along with shopping and lots of restaurants! This will be sure to make your trip to a Gwinnett Braves game all inclusive!
I know I will be attending as many Gwinnett Braves games as possible this summer, and you should too! Make sure to mark your calendar with the game schedule so you too can come out and support our local team! For more information and ticket prices visit: http://www.milb.com/index.jsp?sid=t431
